Mardi Gras 2025 Season

The Sydney Silverbacks have a number of events coming up as part of the Mardi Gras season. These include:

Fair Day

Meet the Silverbacks at Fair Day in Victoria Park on Sunday 16th February 2025 from 10am to 4pm. We will be performing demonstrations throughout the day.

LGBTIQA+ BJJ Open Mat (GI & No GI)

An open mat session at Boxing Works Kings Cross on Sunday 23rd February 2025 from 1pm to 3pm. Gym will be open from 12:30pm.

Tony Galluzzo Wrestling Tournament (TGWT)

Friday 28th February 2025 at Boxing Works Kings Cross and joined by our sister club the Melbourne Wranglers. Wrestlers will be at the gym at 6:30pm and aim to be started by 7pm. Spectators are welcome. Register here to compete.

Mardi Gras Parade

The Silverbacks will be marching in the Mardi Gras parade on Saturday 1st March 2025. Float number 84. Watch us on ABC at Taylor Square around 9pm.

Extra Dirty Coat Check

Sunday 2nd March from 9pm to 3:30am the Silverbacks will be fundraising at Extra Dirty Coat Check. Say hello if you are attending the party.

Training Week Off

Friday 7th March will be a training break after the tournament, but training will return the following week on the 14th.

Beginners Workshops

Sydney Silverbacks Wrestling Club is hosting our beginner's workshop over 3 weeks on Friday 14th, 21st & 28th of March. These are free sessions aimed at anyone of any gender or sexual orientation. No previous martial arts experience is required. We will cover some of the fundamental techniques of Olympic Freestyle wrestling. Pre-register here or just turn up on the night.
